Our History

We are a company specialising in providing services to residential leaseholders, residents of apartment blocks and landlords.

 

Town & City Management Services is a specialist block management company owned and managed by Peter Bigge. Peter has been involved in property management since 1989. Initially working for residential property investment companies, his main role was to source and manage properties throughout the North of England. Over a period of two years he built up a large portfolio in excess of 1800 houses and flats and was responsible for their refurbishment and subsequent letting through his three regional offices in Bedale, Manchester, and Sheffield.

In 1996, his company merged with a major firm of estate agents and Peter’s role was to manage the entire residential-letting portfolio. During this time, in recognition of his extensive expertise in the field, Peter was also appointed as an expert witness to Annington Homes, the organisation set-up to manage the Ministry of Defence portfolio throughout the UK.

In 2000 Peter bought out the leasehold management portion of the portfolio and Town and City Management Services was born as a company specialising in block management and the collection of ground rents. The ethos of the company is to provide clients with a personal and highly professional service tailored to their individual requirements; it is this philosophy that has enabled us to thrive in a very competitive market.

We are active members of the Association of Residential Managing Agents (ARMA) and we have forged close working relationships with other property professionals, to place us in a unique position to offer the best advice to our clients.

Peter Bigge is an Associate Member of the Institute of Residential Property Managers and was closely involved with the Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Act of 2002 which gave qualifying leaseholders the ‘Right to Manage’ and to appoint an agent to act on their behalf. Peter has developed considerable practical expertise on the subject and is available to advise Solicitors and Leaseholders on the changes in legislation.
